Coming down off the high of Regatta last week meant there was a shift from that marquee event to Academics as a number of students worked through their AP exams and will continue to do so for the rest of this week. In sports, competitions are heating up with soccer, tennis, rugby playoffs and championships in the mix.

We also have several Evening of Dance performances coming our way this week:
  • Wednesday, May 11th 7.30pm - Privett, Rogers, Allard and Mack
  • Thursday, May 12th 7.30pm - Ellis, Whittall, Hope and Alex
  • Friday, May 13th 7.30pm - All Welcome - no need to book tickets - However, please respect some seats have been reserved online by parents and the public.

Farewell to Ward Phillips

The School paid tribute to longtime Board member Mr. Ward Phillips last week at assembly. For those of you who do not know, Mr. Phillips has been instrumental in working with our facilities team and leading the development and construction of most of the recent additions to our South end of campus including the Bunch, Crooks Hall, Centre for the Arts and Humanities as well as Hope House. His involvement and insights were key to ensuring these buildings were delivered on time and on budget. The School thanks Mr. Phillips for his time and his efforts in making Brentwood a better place!

SCOTT’S SAFETY TIP OF THE WEEK - Spring Allergies

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, it is nearly impossible to eliminate pollen completely from your life, but here are five ways to minimize your exposure to pollen:
  1. 1. Keep the windows closed in the car and at home, and use air conditioning if necessary.
  2. 2. Use a HEPA air filter and a high-efficiency furnace filter to reduce pollen inside the house. Be sure to change the filters frequently. You can also use a HEPA filter on your vacuum cleaner.
  3. 3. Vacuum carpets, and wash the bed linens weekly.
  4. 4. Shower and change your clothes after being outside. If you have pets that spend time outdoors, don’t forget to bathe them, as well, to reduce the pollen they bring into the home.
  5. 5. Limit your outdoor activity to specific times. Pollen counts are highest between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and lowest right after it rains or at night so consider making your morning constitutional an evening stroll instead.
