Andee Dale, BA CYC, MA

My name is Andee Dale, and I am a registered Clinical Counsellor.  I was born and raised on Vancouver Island in the Cowichan Valley.  I have been working in the counselling and human services field for just over 10 years. I have worked in both British Columbia and Alberta in environments such as schools, hospital settings, children’s services, addiction and mental health treatment and detoxification programs, as well as group living and outpatient settings. Currently I work as a private practice therapist within the Cowichan Valley.

Talk Synopsis:

If you’re interested in a career in human services or counselling, I will be speaking about the different career options for counsellors, school and university paths, a day in the life of a counsellor, and some of the challenges and rewards of the work itself.  Counselling is a passion of mine; it took me many years to get to where I am and I tried a number of different career paths before discovering the right fit for me.  The opportunities for human services professionals and counsellors are abundant and there is a lot of room to find your own niche within this area of employment and education if this is what you’re interested in.
