Ashley Perry is Build to Rent Consultancy Director at LIV Consult, the leading UK Build to Rent advisory firm. He has real estate development experience in Canada and the United Kingdom, as a Development Project Manager and Construction Consultant and has recently joined LIV Consult from JLL. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds a Masters in Project Management from the University of Greenwich. In 2014, he was a co-author of the Technical Guide for the Design and Construction of Tall Wood Buildings in Canada.

Ashley leads the London office of LIV Consult – part of LIV Group, a leading management operator of Build to Rent developments – is currently advising PLC clients, Institutional Investors, Private Funds, REITs and Banks on over 30,000+ BTR units stretching to 2025 and beyond. The consultancy team advises on strategy, project delivery, viability, lifecycle modelling, branding and design for management and operation in order to maximize effectiveness of Build to Rent ambitions.

Ashley is an active member of both ULI UK and Europe Young Leaders networks and has been involved in both committees for nearly four years.


Talk Synopsis:


I would like to cover the routes to becoming a Chartered Surveyor, as part of the leading built environment professional body – RICS – as well as real estate development process more generally and the opportunities / direction to take. I would like to highlight the multitude of roles available and share my experience as Development Project Manager at one of the leading global real estate advisors. I will also summarise my journey from initially wanting to become an architect, then became a quantity surveyor, then project manager and now Director of a leading consultancy business in the UK, based in London. I will also share a bit about the sector I am involved in.
