Dr Jan Malherbe, Family Physician with hospital affiliation in the Cowichan valley:
- Graduated from Huguenot High School in Wellington, South Africa 1986, Victor Lodorum and recipient of Principal’s Award. Member of provincial sprint kayak team 1985+1986
- Graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, MBChB in 1992
- Worked in rural and Emergency Medicine in South Africa, Namibia, Northwest territories, New Zealand and the Gulf Islands 1993-2008 before relocating to the Cowichan valley

- Canadian LMCC qualification in 2000
- Canadian CCFP qualification in 2001
- Member of Canadian World Championship kayak marathon team 2011,2012,2013 and 2014
- Executive member of Cowichan District Medical Society, Chair of the Advisory committee CDMS, member of Cowichan GP Division
- Currently enjoying life in the Cowichan valley providing care as a full-service family physician and raising sheep with my family
