To All,

One of our Grade 12 Photography students, Joe K, Whittall ‘16, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 36th Annual College and High School Photography Contest sponsored by Photographer’s Forum Magazine for his image “West Bound”.

Over 14,000 entries from around the world were judged by professional photographers and college instructors. He will be notified this month if he has won First through Fourth, but as a finalist the photo will appear in the Best of College and High School Photography 2016 edition.

As you might expect, Joe’s photography has played a huge role in our school life for the past four years: he has been an indefatigable and highly skilled photographer for the Yearbook and is currently our Captain of Photography.

SCOTT’S SAFETY TIP OF THE WEEK - Keep Away The Flu

With cold and flu still lingering, it’s important for everyone to remember some basic steps that will help us from sharing each other’s germs, and help keep us healthy through the fall and winter.

• Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds
• Cough and sneeze into your arm, NOT your hands. If you DO cover a cough or a sneeze with your hands, wash them immediately
• Keep your hands away from your face!
• Drink lots of water, but do not share cups or water bottles with your friends
• Same rule goes for cell phones. Cell phones are covered in germs. Do not share your cell phone with anyone, and think twice before you borrow one
• Eat!! Eat breakfast, eat lunch, eat healthy snacks, and eat dinner! Food is fuel, and we need it everyday, from a variety of sources
• Try hard to get 7+ hours of sleep at night
• Get some exercise! Get outside for a shot of fresh air!
• Of course if you have a fever, stay home
